Israel: No ceasefire with Hezbollah

Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yechiel Leiter, says in a statement that Israel will not discuss a ceasefire with the Iranian-backed Hezbollah.

The statement comes ahead of planned talks between the Israeli and Lebanese governments in the United States on Tuesday.

Lebanon has previously said that the meeting will be about a ceasefire, and that it would be the beginning of negotiations between the neighboring countries.
