-
This is our backyard and we have good control of the Baltic Sea. For
us, it's about marking a presence, we see what's happening and have
control of the situation, says Jonas Beltrame-Linné, press officer at
the Swedish Armed Forces to GP.
He also says that the submarine is in international waters and has not violated Swedish territory.
According
to a press release, the operation is “part of our routine operations
that maintain the Swedish Armed Forces’ good situational awareness in
our immediate area and ensure Swedish and allied territorial integrity.”
