Mixed messages about US ships in Hormuz
Several ships from the US Navy have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, according to information provided to Axios.
The passages, which are the first of their kind since the war began, are not said to have been coordinated with Iran.
However, an Iranian military leader denies on state television that any US ship has passed through the strait, according to Reuters.
According to the channel, an American ship has received a warning that it will be attacked within 30 minutes if it passes through the strait. According to Iran, the ship turned back after the warning.
The US and Iran are meeting today in Pakistan to negotiate a longer-term peace agreement. Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz is one of the most burning issues.
Trump: We have started clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz
US President Donald Trump writes that the US has started clearing mines in the Strait of Hormuz.
“All 28 of their mine ships are also on the bottom of the sea,” he writes in a post on Truth Social.
Furthermore, Trump once again criticizes other countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, France and Germany for not helping him open the strait.
