Trump's USA  NATO's future
Reports: Rutte's meeting with Trump "went to hell"

US President Donald Trump used the meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte as an outlet to vent his frustration with the alliance, several sources told Politico.

- It went to hell. The conversation was nothing more than a tirade of insults. He is said to have threatened with basically anything, says one of the sources.

The frustration stems from Trump's belief that NATO has not been helpful enough in the war against Iran. According to one source, he is said to have threatened retaliation, without going into details.

According to information to the Wall Street Journal, Trump plans to move American soldiers from NATO countries that have not been "helpful" to other countries that are seen as more supportive.

NATO spokeswoman Allison Hart denies Politico's information and tells the newspaper that Rutte and Trump had a "constructive" conversation.

Trump: Asked Netanyahu to Scale Back Attacks

US President Donald Trump says in an interview with NBC that he asked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday to scale back attacks on Lebanon.

– I spoke to Bibi, and he will tone it down. I think we need to be a little more restrained.

Trump says he called to ensure that the upcoming negotiations in Pakistan are successful.

Over 300 people were killed and over 1,000 injured in yesterday's extensive attacks on Lebanon. The attacks took place after the US and Iran agreed to a ceasefire, but according to the US and Israel, Lebanon is not covered by the agreement. This is in contrast to Iran and Pakistan, who both believe that the ceasefire also applies to Lebanon.

According to information provided to Axios reporter Barak Ravid, talks between Israel and Lebanon are expected to be held in the US next week.

Epstein affair Investigation
Melania Trump: I had nothing to do with Epstein

Melania Trump came out on Thursday and denied any involvement with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, several media outlets report.

The first lady called a press conference where she said that the claims circulating about her are "completely false." She also demanded that the ongoing rumor-mongering stop.

According to Melania Trump, the reason she and Epstein ran into each other over the years is that they moved in the same social circles in New York and Palm Beach. This explains why she sent emails to Epstein's convicted aide Ghislaine Maxwell, she says.

- The smear campaign against me by malicious and politically motivated individuals is aimed at damaging my reputation for financial gain and political climbing.

The statement came out of nowhere, writes AP - especially since Donald Trump has received relatively few questions about Epstein recently.
