Meta given 24 hours to prove impartiality
Meta—which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp—has been given 24 hours to prove its impartiality regarding the Brazilian election.
The company is accused of influencing the election in favor of right-wing candidate Flávio Bolsonaro and has been taken to court by the team of left-wing presidential candidate Lula da Silva.
While Meta has maintained that it is impartial, a court has now given the company 24 hours to provide evidence to support this claim.
On Sunday, the decisive second round of the election will take place between Lula da Silva and Flávio Bolsonaro—the son of the imprisoned former right-wing president, Jair Bolsonaro.
