Rubio on West Bank attack: “Outraged”
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has expressed his outrage over an attack by Israeli settlers on American photographer Heidi Levine earlier this week.
“We are very outraged by those images and what we are seeing. We have previously asked Israel—and will continue to ask them—to put an end to this kind of thing,” Rubio told reporters on Saturday, according to Reuters.
The *Washington Post* photographer required hospital treatment following the attack. The settlers, who were armed with bottles and slingshots, “kicked me for, like, ten minutes while I tried to hold onto my cameras and my bag,” Levine previously stated.
Earlier in the day, the US Ambassador to Israel, Mike Huckabee, demanded that the perpetrators be prosecuted and imprisoned for what he described as “an act of terror committed by masked cowards.”
