A new security breach is suspected to have occurred at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany.

A vehicle is believed to have driven through a fence at the airport, police stated, according to the news agency DPA.

The damaged section of the fence is located near several parked Russian cargo planes. A major police operation was carried out overnight, but no unauthorized individuals were found on the airport grounds.

One of the airport’s two runways has been closed.

On August 4, a drone equipped with explosives was discovered at the airport, near some Ukrainian cargo planes. Around the same time, another drone collided with an aircraft in mid-air. Ten days later, a third drone—also carrying explosives—was found in the vicinity of the airport.

The German government has identified Russia as being responsible for the sabotage.
