Oil price falls after Trump's new Iran announcement
Oil prices fall after Donald Trump announced that he is extending the deadline for two weeks on condition that Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz.
Shortly after the announcement, at 01:00 Swedish time, WTI oil had fallen by 12 percent to below $100 a barrel, writes CNBC.
Iran says ships will pay tolls during ceasefire
Iran will, together with Oman, collect a toll for all ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz during the two-week ceasefire, Iran's semi-state news agency Tasnim reports according to CNN.
According to Iran, the toll money will be earmarked for the reconstruction of what was damaged in the war.
The US and Israel claim that the strait will be opened in exchange for their attacks ending. No toll is mentioned.
About a fifth of the world's oil usually passes through Hormuz. But the strait has been effectively closed since the war began. Iran is said to have charged a toll of up to two million dollars for safe passage, but it is unclear whether anyone has actually paid.
