Norwegian Iran Watch: Over 3,600 arrested in Iran

The Norwegian independent human rights organization Iran Human Rights (IHR) estimates that over 3,600 people in Iran have been arrested in connection with the ongoing war.
Among the charges against those deprived of their liberty are internet connections to foreign news media or access to terminals connected to Starlink.
“The charges against them relate to espionage, contacts with foreign intelligence services or having transferred images to foreign media,” writes IHR.
Attempts to create so-called operational cells or initiate pure armed struggle are also mentioned among the criminal suspicions.
IHR states more precisely that 3,646 people have been arrested, of which 767 after the ceasefire on April 8. Calculations are made from research and open sources, but the number of arrests is believed to be higher.
