Middle East Crisis Peace Talks

Iran Not Participating in New Peace Talks in Pakistan

Iran will not participate in Monday's planned peace talks in Pakistan, the state news agency Irna reported, according to Reuters.

Donald Trump said Sunday afternoon, Swedish time, that a US delegation would travel to Islamabad on Monday. However, Vice President JD Vance will not accompany him this time for "security reasons", the president added without specifying.

Shortly afterwards, White House officials told several news agencies that JD Vance would indeed lead the delegation.

The US-Iran ceasefire expires on Wednesday. Earlier on Sunday, the president threatened to bomb Iran's power plants and bridges if no agreement is reached.

Trump Threatens Iran's Power Plants: "No More Softball"

US President Donald Trump says the US has presented a deal to Iran and hopes the country will accept it. Otherwise, he threatens to blow up all the power plants and bridges in the country.

"No more softball. They will fall quickly and easily, and if they do not accept the deal, it will be my honor to do what is necessary," he writes.

A US delegation will travel to Pakistan tomorrow, according to Trump.

He also states that Iran has violated the ceasefire by shelling ships in the Strait of Hormuz, which he writes were French and British.

"That wasn't nice, was it?" he writes.
