Middle East crisis Strait of Hormuz

US attacks in Hormuz for second night in a row

For the second day in a row, the US is attacking targets in the Strait of Hormuz in Iran. This is confirmed by the US military command Centcom on X.

"Our attacks today are a direct response to Iran's continued aggression against commercial shipping," writes Centcom, and writes that Iran attacked the Panama-flagged oil tanker M/T Kiku early Saturday morning.

The state Iranian news agency has information about explosions on the island of Qeshm in the Strait of Hormuz and in Sirik on the mainland by the strait, where US fighter jets also carried out attacks on Friday, according to Reuters.

Iran has sent missiles at US bases

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard says in a statement that it attacked a US military base in Kuwait and a naval base in Bahrain during the night of Sunday. This is reported by the New York Times.

The attacks were carried out with drones and missiles. According to the statement, they are a response to the attacks on Iranian targets in the Strait of Hormuz that the US carried out late on Sunday, writes the BBC.

In a statement in state media, the Revolutionary Guard says that US bases in the area will "experience hell" in the coming days, writes Reuters.

A US official confirms the attacks, but states that no one was killed in the attacks.

Trump's threat: "It is possible that they will never learn"

After the new attacks between the US and Iran, US President Donald Trump has issued new warnings. On Truth social he writes that Iran has violated the ceasefire and if it continues, Iran will “no longer exist”.

“It is very possible that they will never learn! There may come a point when we can no longer be reasonable and are forced to use military means to complete the job that we very successfully started.”

The attacks erupted on Thursday after a ship in the Strait of Hormuz was allegedly attacked. Since then, the attacks have intensified and during the night, Iran has attacked US targets in Kuwait and Bahrain, among others, according to Reuters.
