Civil casualties in Pakistani attacks on Afghanistan
At least 36 civilians have been killed and over 160 injured in Pakistani air and ground attacks on Afghan border provinces, TT reports, citing the Taliban government in Kabul. Among the dead are several children, according to the Taliban spokesman.
Pakistan also said that 29 militants were killed in raids on hideouts along the border. Information Minister Attaullah Tarar describes the operation as a response to “terrorist attacks on innocents” in Pakistan.
Violence on the border has escalated since February, when Afghanistan carried out retaliatory attacks after Pakistani air strikes inside the country, writes the AP.
