Trump sees new book – JD Vance suspects leaks

It's fake news and mostly made up. That's how Donald Trump describes an upcoming book that New York Times journalists Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan have written about his time as president, reports The Hill. On Truth Social, Trump writes that Haberman is a "third-rate writer".

The book describes, among other things, how the Trump administration is said to have held crisis meetings about Jeffrey Epstein in the White House, and that Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is said to have called Volodymyr Zelenskyj "Mr. Bean on crack", reports Expressen.

According to The Hill, parts of the book have reportedly raised concerns among Trump's associates due to their great detail. This applies, among other things, to Vice President JD Vance, who is said to suspect that the reporters have had access to recorded conversations from meetings at the highest level. Midterm elections in the US

US Midterm Elections
US Supreme Court blocks attempt to restrict postal voting

The US Supreme Court has decided to allow laws in several states that allow late arrival of mail-in votes to remain in place. The Wall Street Journal reports.

In several states, mail-in votes that are postmarked no later than Election Day are counted even if they arrive a few days later. In Mississippi, a deadline of up to five business days after Election Day applies, which was the rule that Republicans wanted to have overturned.

Since the corona pandemic, the number of mail-in votes has increased sharply and about a third of American voters now vote by mail. President Donald Trump has long been a sharp critic of mail-in voting and has repeatedly claimed that the system increases the risk of election fraud, even though he himself has voted by mail, writes the Washington Post.
