North Korea: Xi wants to work for stable relationship

Chinese President Xi Jinping says he is ready to work with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un to ensure the development of the two countries' relationship is "long-term, healthy and stable," North Korea's state news agency KCNA reported.

The information comes about a month after Xi Jinping made an unusual visit to North Korea.

In the message from Xi, which KCNA reports, he states that the two countries have jointly stood up for national independence.

China is an important source of diplomatic and political support for North Korea, which is one of the world's most isolated countries and is subject to extensive international sanctions.
