Trump and Zelensky to meet in Turkey next week
Donald Trump will hold a bilateral meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky during the NATO summit in Ankara next week, the White House said, according to the AP. Trump will also meet with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa, among others.
It will be the first high-level meeting between the United States and Ukraine since the Iran-Iraq war broke out in late February. Ukraine and Russia have repeatedly invited the United States to participate in the peace process again, but the American chief negotiators, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, have been fully focused on the Middle East.
Yesterday, both Zelensky and Vladimir Putin held telephone conversations with Trump on the 250th anniversary of the United States.

Kremlin: The military operation is now a real war
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov admits that the country is in “a real war,” reports the independent Meduza.
– Do you know why? It started as a special military operation. It continues as a war because Berlin, Paris, The Hague, Oslo and – unfortunately – Washington are behind Kyiv, he said in an interview with the VGTRK television channel.
Russia has not declared war on Ukraine and officially calls it a “special military operation”, but several leaders – including Vladimir Putin – have in various contexts called it a war.
