Shipping company boss: Iran war is as stagnant as Ukraine

The market is underestimating the risks of a prolonged stalemate in the Iran war, and a solution seems far away. This is what Jacob Meldgaard, CEO of the Danish shipping company Torm, tells the Financial Times.

He compares it to the Ukraine war, where many assumed during the first half of the year that the economic damage would force the warring parties to find a solution.

– The most likely thing now is that both Trump and Iran see no other solution than to continue. The leaders of the Gulf states have realized that they must prepare for a prolonged situation that lasts not for days or weeks, but months or years, he says.

British Palestine Action labeled a terrorist organization in the US

The US has classified the British network Palestine Action as a global terrorist organization, British media reports.

– Terrorism from the far left poses a serious threat to the United States and the West, says US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

This is the first time the United States has designated a British left-wing organization as a terrorist organization. This means that supporters of the group are banned from entering the United States, assets in the United States are seized and Americans are prohibited from supporting them.

Palestine Action was founded in 2020. In recent years, they have targeted Israel-linked buildings and businesses in the United Kingdom with burglaries, sabotage and vandalism. They are also classified as terrorists in their home country.

Protests in support of the group in the United Kingdom have resulted in mass arrests.
