Two Swedes arrested in Thailand
Two Swedes have been arrested in Thailand, Thai authorities report according to Ekot.
One of them is said to be a known criminal who is wanted for violent crimes, while the other is described as his accomplice.
The Phuket News reports that the known criminal is suspected of attempted murder and extortion, among other things. He was arrested in a luxury apartment in Bangkok on Sunday, but is said to have previously been hiding elsewhere in the country. His visa in the country is said to have expired in mid-August.
The accomplice is also said to be wanted, for, among other things, receiving and drug-related crime. According to The Phuket News, he has helped arrange a hiding place, food and other necessities. His visa had also expired.
According to Ekot, both will be extradited to Sweden after trial. Several mobile phones and credit cards that were seized will also be handed over.
