The charges against Trump
"Disaster if Trump misses the nomination"
Republican strategists say it is a "disaster for the party" if Trump fails to secure the presidential nomination for the 2024 election. The Hill reports.
The strategists believe that there is a growing concern that many of his core supporters, who are estimated to make up 25 to 35 percent of the total party base, will "pack up and go home" if Trump is either stopped from running or not voted in.
It will be hard to win if the party loses all those Trump voters or disaffected them, and they don't show up, according to Republican strategist Brian Darling.
- I would say there are two scenarios, either Trump is the nominee and we just run, or we have a nominee that Trump will smear, says Bob Clegg, an Ohio-based Republican strategist.

Sources: There is evidence that Trump's team was behind the hacking of voting systems
US prosecutors have text messages and emails that directly link members of ex-President Donald Trump's legal team to the hacking of the voting system in the state of Georgia in early January 2021, sources told CNN.
According to the channel, the messages and other court documents show how Trump's allies tried to enter the system just days before the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. The incident is described as part of the ex-president's attempt to produce evidence that would back up his baseless claims of election fraud.
District Attorney Fani Willis is expected to indict about a dozen people next week when she presents her evidence against Donald Trump to a grand jury.
