Donald Trump: “Cuba is next”

US President Donald Trump on Friday made a new threat to Cuba and its communist government.

– And by the way, Cuba is next. But pretend I didn't say that.

Cuba has been subjected to growing pressure from Trump and his administration on several occasions. In January, the president imposed an oil blockade on the country, which has also recently suffered two nationwide power outages.

Now Trump is emphasizing again in a speech at an investment forum in Miami that he wants to take over the Caribbean island, without specifying what he plans to do in detail.

He also dismissed concerns that he has lost political support as a result of recent US military actions in Iran and Venezuela.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said last week that any external aggressor would face “unbreakable resistance.”
