Ukraine and Qatar have signed an agreement on combating missiles and drones, Qatar's Defense Ministry announced.

The defense agreement between the countries is about countering threats from missiles. The announcement comes at a time when Iran is carrying out airstrikes against its neighboring countries in the region.

"The agreement includes cooperation in technological areas, the development of joint investments and the exchange of expertise in combating missiles and unmanned aerial systems," the Defense Ministry in Doha said in a statement.

The announcement comes during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj's visit to the country.

Zelensky is on a previously unannounced trip to the region, where he has also signed defense agreements with the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia.
