Trump Talks of Progress and Threatens “Destruction”
The US is in serious talks to end the war with a “new and more reasonable” Iranian regime, President Donald Trump writes in a post.
According to him, great progress has been made in the talks and an agreement is close. At the same time, he warns Iran of what awaits if an agreement is not reached soon and the Strait of Hormuz remains closed.
“Then we will end our pleasant ‘stay’ in Iran by blowing up and completely destroying all of their power generation facilities, oil wells and the island of Kharg (and possibly all desalination plants!), which we have deliberately not yet ‘touched’,” he writes.
Trump has recently described the new leaders of the Islamist regime as a “new regime,” despite the fact that the power structure is the same as before the war began about a month ago.
Iranian Source: Won't End Until We Teach Trump a Lesson
American assessments that the Iran War could soon be over are being rejected by Iran, writes CNN, which spoke to an anonymous security official in Tehran. The source claims that Iran has enough robots and drones to continue.
- This is our war and we will not stop defending ourselves until we have taught Trump and Netanyahu a historic lesson.
As markets prepare for a fifth week of war, Bank of New York Mellon writes in a client letter that there has been a "clear shift towards preserving capital." The analysis from strategist Wee Khoon Chong is that investors want to take profits in assets that have done well but that it is unlikely that capital will be moved to fixed income investments.
Mossad planned for years – offensive against Iran was crushed after leak
The US and Israel reportedly wanted to arm and use Kurdish forces to carry out ground attacks against Iran. However, the plans were reportedly crushed after the information was leaked and Iran strengthened its defenses along the border, according to an investigation and information to Channel 12, reports the Times of Israel.
According to Channel 12, the Israeli intelligence service Mossad had been working on the plan for several years and presented it to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who in turn is said to have raised the issue with the Trump administration during a visit to Washington DC before the war.
However, the Israeli military, the IDF, is said to have been skeptical and considered the plan unrealistic and flawed, says a source. At the same time, it is said to have been presented to the US as well-developed.
At the same time, the Kurds are said to have expressed hesitation and requested “political guarantees” from the US, rather than just military support. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in turn, has reportedly told Trump that Turkey opposes any form of Kurdish independence in the region.
Turkey: Has shot down a new missile from Iran
NATO country Turkey states that it has shot down a new missile from Iran, reports AFP.
"A ballistic missile, which was assessed to have been launched from Iran and had entered Turkish airspace, was neutralized by NATO air and missile defenses deployed in the eastern Mediterranean," the Defense Ministry writes in a statement.
The Iranian embassy in Turkey denies that the missile was fired from Iran.
Since the Iran War began, Turkey has shot down four Iranian missiles.
