Security around the Baltic Sea
NATO encounters Russian planes over the Baltic Sea “almost daily”
NATO repels Russian fighter jets over the Baltic Sea almost every day. This is what Romanian military chief Mihaita Marin told the AP. He warns that the number of Russian provocations and violations in the region will increase due to spring weather and improved flight conditions.
On Monday, planes from several NATO countries – including Sweden – took off to meet two Russian bombers. The bombers, equipped with missiles, stayed in international airspace but were close to Finland, Estonia and Poland, among others.
The Russian planes flew with their communications equipment turned off, a behavior that deviates from international flight rules. The news agency has spoken to French commander Alexandre, who does not rule out that Russia is “testing” NATO.
– What we know is that we have to act every time. We cannot say ‘this is normal, we will let it pass this time’.
Brexit Britain's future
The man who took the British out of the EU wants to rejoin
Great Britain must start discussing a return to the EU. This is what Philip Rycroft, who led the special Brexit ministry between 2017 and 2019, tells the British The Times.
According to Rycroft, life outside the EU has not been as the "Leave" side promised and now the British must examine with a sober eye what is best for the country. He refers to a Yougov poll that indicates that 53 percent of Britons are in favor of joining, while only 32 percent are against.
That the British have lost faith in Brexit is not surprising considering that the exit has given a "significant blow" to GDP and that the flow of refugees across the English Channel has continued, he says.
The newspaper writes that the move is unusual, but interesting, since many top politicians in London share the view. But one person who is not impressed is the Reform leader and Brexit campaigner Nigel Farage, who on social media calls Rycroft an “enemy of democracy”.

Trump: King Charles can mend relations with the US
Britain’s King Charles could have an important role to play in improving relations between the US and the UK, reports the BBC.
– Absolutely. He’s fantastic. He’s a fantastic man. The answer is absolutely yes. I know him well and I’ve known him for years, Trump tells the BBC when asked directly if the king could help ease the rift.
The atmosphere between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Keir Starmer has been tense for a long time, and has been worsened by Britain’s refusal to contribute to the US war in Iran in recent weeks.
King Charles and Queen Camilla are travelling to the US next week for a four-day visit in connection with the 250th anniversary of American independence. During the visit, the king will deliver a speech to Congress and have a private meeting with Trump.
