Trump loyalist appointed new intelligence director
US President Donald Trump appoints a close ally with no experience to head the US intelligence service.
Bill Pulte, who is currently the head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, will become the acting director of the US national intelligence service after Tulsi Gabbard resigned at the end of May.
"William has deep experience in dealing with the most sensitive issues in the United States, the safety and soundness of the markets," Trump writes in a post on his Truth Social platform.
Pulte, who has no direct experience in national intelligence work, will at the same time keep his job overseeing federal housing and mortgage policy.
