The US military has attacked targets in several places in Iran for the second night in a row.

At the same time, President Donald Trump warns that the attacks may escalate.

Iranian state media reports explosions in several coastal cities in the country, including Bandar Abbas, Konarak, Chabahar and in a village near the coastal city of Sirik, according to Al Jazeera.

Last night, the US attacked over 80 targets in the country, following accusations that Iran had fired on ships in the Strait of Hormuz. Donald Trump has promised new attacks during the day.

“This is retaliation for yesterday’s bombing of ships by Iran. If it happens again, it will be much worse,” the president wrote on Truth social.

Early Wednesday morning, Iran launched counterattacks with drones and missiles against American targets in countries in the Middle East.

Spokespeople for the Iranian regime have called Trump’s comments “despicable” and that the country, along with its “armed branches around the region, has its finger on the trigger.”

The United States and Iran agreed to a ceasefire in early June as part of a larger deal to reach a long-term peace solution. The countries now accuse each other of violating points in the agreement, including the ceasefire.
