Iran and US accuse each other of breach of agreement

Iran blames the US after the two countries carried out new attacks on each other during the night and morning. In a statement, the Iranian Foreign Ministry writes that Washington has violated the ceasefire agreement that was concluded three weeks ago.

The US attacks on Iran, the reimposed sanctions on Iranian oil and Israel's fighting in Lebanon have "made key and fundamental parts of the agreement to end the war ineffective," the statement said.

According to the US, the attacks are "punishment" for Iranian attacks on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.

• The US and Iran have once again escalated the conflict over the Strait of Hormuz with attacks on ships and military targets.
