NATO summit leaders given pistols by Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan offered a pistol as a gift to each of the leaders attending the NATO summit in Ankara, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said.
Starmer told British journalists that the pistols were engraved with the name of each individual leader and were accompanied by a box of ammunition, the British Press Association reported according to AFP.
Starmer said that he had to leave his gift in Turkey because it would be illegal to bring the pistol home to the UK, despite a letter from Erdogan lifting export controls on weapons.
It is unclear what kind of gun it is.
