Zelensky: US informed about Moscow meetings
President Volodymyr Zelensky says that Ukraine has been informed by the US about the CIA's recent visit to Moscow.
CIA Director John Ratcliffe visited Russia earlier this week under high-profile circumstances.
"There were a number of meetings there," Zelensky writes without going into the content or who Ratcliffe met.
"I thank you for the information and for the necessary tone in the talks with Russia," he continues, adding that the US has a "realistic vision" of what needs to be done to stop Russia.
Several American media outlets have reported, citing sources, that one purpose of the trip was to warn Russia against attacking or carrying out a provocation against a NATO country. The Iran war and the Strait of Hormuz are also said to have been discussed.
