Trump: Not worried about Russian attack on NATO

Donald Trump sees no risk that Russia will attack NATO countries, he says in a telephone interview with Axios.

– I'm not worried at all. There are no problems.

This week, CIA director John Ratcliffe traveled to Moscow and met with his Russian counterpart. According to sources to several media outlets, he warned the Russians to attack NATO.

The US shortage of Patriot missiles in Europe is “beyond urgent” due to the Iran war. This is stated by two sources within NATO and the US military for the AP.

Patriot is crucial for protection against Russian ballistic missiles. The US military has “definitely” no chance of protecting Europe against sustained Russian attacks, and “very limited” ability to shoot down even a single missile on errant paths, according to the sources.

If Russia were to attack, for example, a military base or a power plant in Europe, NATO would face the same situation as Ukraine and would only be forced to “take slap after slap,” the source said.

At the same time, a senior EU source told AFP that European intelligence services see no signs that Russia is planning any military attacks against the rest of Europe.
