Lavrov at the UN: No pause in the war
Moscow will not pause its war against Ukraine. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov before the UN Security Council on Wednesday.
"We will not pause our special military operation," Lavrov said.
He further accused European countries of wanting to use a ceasefire to "pump the Kyiv regime full of weapons."
In early September, US President Donald Trump sent envoys to both Kyiv and Moscow to try to breathe new life into negotiations aimed at ending Russia's war.
In recent days, Trump has called for a halt to attacks on energy infrastructure. Ukraine has expressed willingness to agree to this, provided Russia also ceases its attacks.
