Zelenskyy and Trump to meet in New York

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is set to meet his American counterpart, Donald Trump, in New York, he announced in a post on X.

Zelenskyy stated that he and Trump agreed to the meeting during a phone call.

"This meeting could change a lot. There is diplomatic momentum," he said.

Leaders from nearly 130 nations are traveling to New York this week for the UN General Assembly.

Russia vows retaliation following attacks on Moscow

Russia vows to "continue and intensify" its attacks on Kyiv in retaliation for Ukrainian drone strikes against the Moscow area over the past few days. This was announced by the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to AFP.

Moscow accuses Ukraine of attacking civilian targets in Russia and attempting to influence the election.

Overnight into Sunday, Ukrainian forces launched more than 1,000 drones at Russia—with hundreds aimed at Moscow—according to Russian authorities. Two people were killed in the attacks in the Moscow area.
