Air defense and halting energy-related attacks were among the topics discussed when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met Donald Trump on Tuesday.

At a press conference following the meeting, Zelenskyy said he had asked Trump for support—specifically US Patriot missiles—to bolster Ukraine's air defenses ahead of the winter.

He also expressed hope that the US could succeed in bringing Russia to the negotiating table. Prior to the meeting, Trump stated that he believed a ceasefire agreement could be reached.

He also described Ukraine's long-range strikes on Russian oil refineries as "a major blow to the Russians."

"It is also a major blow to the price of diesel," Trump claimed.

After the meeting, Zelenskyy reiterated his willingness to halt attacks on energy infrastructure if Russia ceases its own strikes of this kind.
