Nearly $2.5 billion is to be allocated for purposes including housing, debris removal, and hospital renovations in Gaza.

This forms the core of a reconstruction plan for Gaza to be presented by the peace council initiated by US President Donald Trump.

The 66-point plan is set to be presented to the council's 28 member nations on Wednesday, according to the news site Axios, which has seen a copy. The plan outlines how to "create a government out of nothing, an economy out of ruins, and a territory out of a disaster," a member of the peace council told the site.

The plan also includes the deployment of a multinational security force to Gaza. Implementation would require the cooperation of both Israel and Hamas.
