Macron on Greenland agreement: Denmark is respected
French President Emmanuel Macron believes that the security agreement between the US, Denmark, and Greenland helps to "affirm Denmark's sovereignty."
"I note that Denmark's sovereignty is respected, that international law is respected, and that is what we called for. So it is a good thing," he said, according to AFP.
The agreement between the parties was announced on Friday evening. Much remains uncertain, but the deal is far removed from President Donald Trump's stated goal of making Greenland American, and it is being portrayed by several Danish media outlets as a victory for Denmark.
