Zelenskyy’s response regarding Trump: 15 seconds of silence
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is unwilling to say that Donald Trump is making him a scapegoat for problems that the American president himself has caused.
When asked about this at a press briefing, Zelenskyy stood in silence for 15 seconds before smiling and saying:
“This is my answer.”
The question was posed by Sky News in light of Trump’s diesel deal with Russia—an action that critics describe as an attempt to influence public opinion ahead of the midterm elections.
Zelenskyy: Starlink returning to normal following restrictions
The satellite service Starlink, which was recently subject to extensive restrictions in Ukraine, is on its way back to full functionality, according to President Volodymyr Zelenskyy (as reported by AFP).
“Is the speed back to the same level as before? No. Is it being restored? Yes,” he says.
According to Zelenskyy, a speed limit had been imposed, which made it impossible to target Russian drones equipped with jet engines. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump has stated that neither he nor Starlink owner Elon Musk is responsible for the restrictions placed on the service, according to Reuters.
Expert: This is bad for both Trump and Zelenskyy
Neither Donald Trump nor Volodymyr Zelenskyy stands to gain much from the rift that has emerged between the US and Ukraine, according to experts consulted by The New York Times.
Ukraine risks losing crucial military support, while the US President faces criticism from members of his own party. Balazs Jarabik, a former EU diplomat now working at the analysis firm R Politik, describes the situation as a loss for both sides.
“It’s bad for Trump. It’s bad for Zelenskyy. It’s bad for the Europeans,” he says.

Zelenskyy thanks “real leaders” in Brussels
Amid a heated dispute with Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been invited as a guest to the ongoing EU summit in Brussels, according to news agencies.
“I am glad to be here. I am grateful for the tremendous support we have from the EU, the Council, the Commission, and the leaders—real leaders,” the President said upon arriving at the meeting.
Ahead of the summit, several EU leaders expressed their desire to bring Ukraine into the Union. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that “intensive” work is underway on the matter, and—unlike the United States—the EU has no intention of lifting any sanctions against Russia.
The primary focus of today’s discussions is how the EU can help Ukraine prepare for the winter.
“The winter package is not just about the economy; it also concerns air defense and financial support,” says Zelenskyy.
