On Wednesday morning, Turkish police are conducting a raid on the headquarters of the opposition-aligned TV channel Halk TV in Ankara, the channel reports on X.

"Police at the Halk TV building," the channel writes.

"Broadcast halted."

Eleven people have been detained during the raid, according to both the TV channel and prosecutors.

The prosecutor states that arrest warrants have been issued for a total of 17 individuals at Halk TV as part of an investigation into suspected bribery and money laundering.

The TV channel is close to the CHP, the party of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. İmamoğlu is considered President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's chief political rival and was arrested on corruption charges in March of last year. The arrest sparked widespread protests in the city.
