Ambassador dismissed following Greece controversy

US Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle is being dismissed.
She herself claims she was "pressured by the White House."
Allegations of corruption are now coming to light.
Kimberly Guilfoyle, 57, has served as the US Ambassador to Greece since 2024.
Shortly before taking the post, she broke off her engagement to the US President's son, Donald Trump Jr.
And the new job got off to a rocky start.
It soon emerged that the new US representative had harshly criticized the country's population a few years earlier, during her time as a Fox News host.
At the time, she accused the Greeks of being lazy, living off welfare, and retiring early.
"It’s like an untrained pet peeing on the rug," Guilfoyle said.
"I didn't like what I read"
She is now accused of offering to help a wealthy political donor in exchange for him paying a $100,000 American Express credit card bill.
Guilfoyle’s lawyers have denied the allegations, stating that the payment covered a debt owed by a former client.
On Tuesday, Donald Trump had seen enough and hinted that a change was coming:
"She won't be there; I didn't like what I read," he said while en route to a campaign rally in Alaska.
Reports confirmed
Shortly thereafter, the White House announced that she had been asked to leave her post. "We have asked Ambassador Guilfoyle to step down. She has been a tremendous asset to the team, and we wish her the best," says Trump’s new press secretary, Katie Zacharia.
Guilfoyle confirms the reports.
"While my time as ambassador may be drawing to a close, my commitment to President Trump, the America First movement, and the country I love will never end," she writes on X.
However, she also denied the allegations against her and stated that she intends to "clear her name."
