Two men convicted for terror plots in Germany
A German court has convicted two men for plotting terror attacks against pro-Israel individuals on behalf of Iran.
The court in Hamburg sentenced a Danish citizen to eight and a half years in prison for plans to kill, among others, Volker Beck—chairman of the German-Israeli Society—and Josef Schuster, president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany.
An Afghan citizen was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. According to prosecutors, he had agreed to recruit a third man and provide him with a weapon for the attack on Beck.
Prosecutors state that the Danish man received orders from a unit within Iran’s Revolutionary Guard.
The two men were taken into custody in Germany following their arrest and extradition from Denmark last year.
