Large protests in Israel for the 32nd weekend in a row
Several
thousand people demonstrated on Saturday night in Israel against Prime
Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's criticized legal reform. This is reported by Haaretz.
It is the 32nd weekend in a row that protests have broken out in several cities in the country. In Tel Aviv, over 100,000 people gathered shouting "Choose democracy" and "We will not give up", writes The Times of Israel.
The
government's bill involves, among other things, restrictions on the
power of the Supreme Court and has met with harsh criticism both in the
country and from the outside world.

The charges against Trump
Evidence is being tried in court for a fourth impeachment against Trump
A prosecutor in Atlanta will next week present his evidence against Donald Trump before a grand jury, US media write.
The
case concerns, among other things, the ex-president's attempt to use
baseless conspiracy theories to turn his election loss in the state of
Georgia into a victory.
It
also targets 16 Republicans who are believed to have tried to declare
Trump the winner contrary to the actual election results, using their
electoral votes.
The evidence – including witness interviews – will be presented behind closed doors. The court must then decide on the further proceedings.
According
to the Washington Post, the expectation of many is that the two-year
investigation will lead to more charges, including against Donald Trump
and his aide Rudy Giuliani.
If Trump is indicted in Georgia, it will be the fourth time since March that he has been put on trial. He himself denies any crime.

Leader: Europe cannot rely on the US in the future
An independent military defense in Europe and the war in Ukraine are some of the topics that adorn Sunday's editorial pages.
DN's
editorial board believes that Europe must invest the resources required
for an independent military defense, as Europe must not rely solely on
the United States.
"The necessity of developing an independent defense capability is obvious. Yet far too little happens.”
The editorial page writes that the US has come to the rescue twice, both during World War I and World War II. They believe that it is not safe to count on the US to contribute in the same way in the future.
GP's
Adam Cwejman believes that Russia has already lost the war in Ukraine
and that President Zelensky's political position has never been
stronger. Cwejman also draws parallels to previous wars in Europe.
"A war that, on the other hand, just continues, like the First World War, has no winners."
