Lawyers and the chief of staff are charged in the shadow of Trump
Donald Trump is not the only person charged in Georgia for trying to overturn the 2020 election results.
The Hill site lists 18 more people facing trial in the case.
The list includes, among others, Trump's former chief of staff Mark Meadows and a number of lawyers such as Jenna Ellis and Rudy Giuliani.
The latter spread unfounded accusations of electoral fraud in several media appearances shortly after Joe Biden's victory. Several media outlets call him the "RICO pioneer," referring to the RICO law that was enacted to combat organized crime. During his time as a prosecutor in New York, he used it with success, but now he is being prosecuted under the same legislation.
"The new indictment against Trump is much bigger than Watergate"
The new indictment against Trump is "much bigger than the Watergate scandal," lawyer and Richard Nixon's former adviser John Dean told CNN.
- It is of completely different dimensions.. Nixon abused his power and exceeded his powers. But he did not give up on the country's constitution.
Dean believes that Trump, on the other hand, wanted to stay in power and abused his power in Georgia, "which is much more serious and much more troubling."

Clinton on the new indictment against Trump: "Justice"
Hillary Clinton says she feels "satisfaction that the justice system is working." This
after new charges were presented in Georgia where Donald Trump and 18
of his associates are accused of election fraud in 2020.
Clinton,
who lost to Trump in the 2016 election, believes that it is a terrible
moment for the United States but that it is good that justice is now
being served.

I feel great sadness that we have an ex-president who has been charged
with so many charges, she says in an interview with MSNBC.
