The Labor leader is criticized after paying tribute to Thatcher
Labor leader Keir Starmer has found himself in a storm since he paid tribute to former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, British media write.
For decades, Thatcher has been heavily criticized within the labor movement that Labor claims to represent. That's why many Labor supporters raised their eyebrows when Starmer said in a radio interview on Sunday that Thatcher had a "plan for entrepreneurs".
- I don't support Thatcher's actions, but I don't think anyone can deny that she had a driving commitment, says Starmer to BBC Radio 4.
The comment is seen as part of Starmer's attempt to move the party to the right on the political scale and thus steal votes from conservative Tories.
