leaking fuel tank in Liberia that exploded as locals tried to collect
fuel caused at least 40 deaths earlier this week and the country is now
in mourning, AP writes.
Several of the victims were so badly injured that they had to be buried in a mass grave, as they could not be identified.

says Vice President Jewel Howard-Taylor in a speech at the mass funeral.
Several similar accidents have occurred around Africa as people tried to get much-needed fuel.

Over 40 dead after explosion in fuel tank in Liberia
More than 40 people have been killed and 83 injured after a leaking fuel tank exploded in Liberia earlier this week, AP reports.
The explosion occurred when people gathered around the tank to collect the fuel.
Several of the dead could not be identified and were therefore buried in a mass grave on Wednesday. Local health officials also say that the death toll is difficult to confirm as several of the bodies were so badly burned.
