Xi hails Russian trade boom - promises to strengthen cooperation
Chinese President Xi Jinping promises to strengthen economic ties and "robust" cooperation with Russia. He said this during a meeting with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin on Wednesday, reports Bloomberg.
The statement comes after trade between the two countries reached its annual target of $200 billion last month.
Sino-Russian relations have deepened since the invasion of Ukraine, with increased exports and reduced dependence on the dollar. Over 90 percent of trade between the two countries is now done in yuan or rubles.

German prosecutors want to seize billions in Russian assets
Germany aims to seize Russian assets worth more than 720 million euros, equivalent to 8 billion kroner, from a Russian bank that is considered to have violated EU sanctions. This is written by the German Der Spiegel.
The money is said to be in a bank account in Frankfurt and a federal prosecutor's office has now launched legal proceedings to confiscate it.
If the seizure is carried out, the money can go to the German state budget - and would not be earmarked for, for example, Ukraine.

The message: Russia "is Europe" - stays in UEFA
Despite being banned from all competitions, the Russian Football Federation voted today to stay within UEFA, reports Reuters.
- Russia is Europe. We have decided not to move to Asia, says Achmed Ajdamirov, according to the state-run Russian news agency TASS.
Russia have previously discussed switching to the Asian Football Confederation, after being locked out of all European competitions following the invasion of Ukraine.
