Elon Musk vs Europe
More text messages between Tangen and Musk: “Don’t take it personally”
Oil Fund CEO Nicolai Tangen said at a press conference in January that all of his messages to Elon Musk have been made public. The Norwegian newspaper E24, which has seen more text messages, says this is a lie.
On several occasions in June last year, the two are said to have discussed Elon Musk’s salary package that the oil fund voted against. Among other things, Musk sent a link to a news article on CNBC.
Nicolai Tangen is said to have written “don’t take it personally” when he explained to Elon Musk that the oil fund would still vote against his salary package.
The oil fund writes to E24 that Nicolai Tangen was not fully informed about what was made public when he said everything was public.
Experts disagree on how Musk’s political persona plays
Does Elon Musk’s political right-wing leaning have anything to do with Tesla’s decline?
Yes, according to DN's Jonas Frönberg, who believes that "there is no doubt that the decline is strongly related to Musk's new persona as a right-wing extremist". He refers, among other things, to a brand study that shows that Tesla's value has decreased by a third in two years.
Aftonbladet's car expert Glenn Lindberg believes that it is too easy an explanation to believe that it is only related to Musk's political stance. He sees several reasons: including last year's Tesla campaign and the fact that the Model Y will be released in a new version this spring.
- I don't think you should read too much into a single month's sales figures. It can be extremely volatile when it comes to Tesla.
In January, 9,945 Tesla cars were sold in Europe - a decline of over 45 percent compared to the same period last year.

Trump's tariffs
Donald Trump wants to investigate import tariffs on copper
Donald Trump has signed a presidential order to investigate possible import tariffs on the base metal copper, writes Bloomberg.
Copper is used, among other things, in the production of electric vehicles, military equipment and a number of consumer goods. According to the American president, the purpose of the tariffs is to benefit domestic industry and protect the country's consumers.
"The large American copper industry has been decimated by global players who are attacking our domestic production," Trump writes in a post on Truth Social.
The news caused the price of copper to surge. On Wednesday morning, futures were up around 5 percent.
Chile is the largest exporter of copper to the US, followed by Canada and Mexico, writes Direkt.

US may stop Gripen deal in Colombia – Saab fell
US plans to veto Saab's sale of Gripen planes to Colombia, writes industry website Infodefensa.
According to the site, a veto would apply to US-produced components used in the Gripen plane. This includes the General Electric-produced F414-G engine.
If the veto becomes a reality, it means that Saab will not be able to deliver aircraft to Colombia.
The deal between Saab and Colombia has not yet been finalized, but, according to information to Ekot last fall, Colombia wants to buy the Swedish fighter jets. According to Infodefensa, it involves ten planes worth $2 billion, equivalent to 21 billion kronor.
Saab's marketing and sales manager Richard Smith denies the information. He writes on X that Saab has all the licenses and permits in place to deliver the Gripen to Colombia.
Saab's share was down around 4 percent shortly after the news was released. By 2:50 p.m., it had recovered and was down 0.7 percent.
