The change of power in the US

Trump's first term
New awkward handshake with "masculine dominance"

Donald Trump's meeting with Emmanuel Macron began, as so often, with a long and strange handshake, several media outlets report. The Independent calls it "awkward" and the New York Times calls it a forceful handshake in which both intended to "assert masculine dominance".

Trump has a special technique where he pulls the arm of the person he greets tightly, and it was the handshake with Macron that was particularly talked about during Trump's last presidency.

This time, both seem to have tried to pull each other's arm and the handshake lasted for about fifteen seconds before Trump let go.

Report: Employees do not have to respond to Musk's email - White House denies

The Trump administration has informed heads of federal agencies that their employees can ignore Elon Musk's latest threat of firing if they do not respond to the famous email in which they are supposed to summarize their last work week. This is stated by three sources familiar with the matter to the Washington Post.

The Hill has seen an email from the White House about the conversation with the managers and it says that it is “voluntary” for federal employees to respond.

According to Musk, the deadline was tomorrow morning Swedish time. A person who heard the conversation says that the White House also does not know what they will do with emails that have already been sent and that they “have no plans” to analyze them.

White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt denies the information at the same time.

– Everyone works together as a unified team under President Trump’s leadership. Any claim to the contrary is completely false, she tells the Washington Post.

150,000 Canadians demand: Tear Musk’s citizenship

Over 150,000 citizens in Canada have signed a petition calling on the country’s parliament to strip Elon Musk of his Canadian citizenship, writes The Guardian. The background to the appeal is the tech billionaire's alliance with Donald Trump, who in turn has repeatedly threatened to make Canada the 51st state of the United States.

The initiator and author Qualia Reed launched the petition on February 20 in the Canadian House of Commons, where it was supported by parliamentarian and Musk critic Charlie Angus. According to the petition, Musk has "engaged in activities that are contrary to the national interests of Canada" through his role as an advisor to Donald Trump.

At least 500 signatures are required for a petition in Canada to receive the certification required to be presented to the House of Commons.

Conservative podcaster appointed deputy FBI director

Donald Trump appoints conservative podcaster Dan Bongino as deputy director of the FBI, reports AFP.

Bongino previously worked as a police officer in New York and an agent for the Secret Service bodyguard force and currently hosts the podcast The Dan Bongino Show.

“A man with incredible love and passion for our country,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

FBI Director Kash Patel, who was confirmed by the Senate last week, congratulated Bongino, calling him “a warrior.”

Neither Patel nor Bongino has served in the FBI before.
