Israeli negotiators heading to Cairo for Gaza talks
Hamas says it is ready to negotiate the next phase of the Gaza ceasefire, reports the AP. On Thursday afternoon, Israeli negotiators are reportedly on their way to Cairo for talks on a continued Gaza ceasefire.
On Thursday, Hamas said the only way the remaining hostages in Gaza could be freed is for the parties to agree on the second phase of the ceasefire.
– We renew our full commitment to the ceasefire agreement and confirm our readiness to begin negotiations on the second phase of the agreement, the terrorist group said in a statement.
During the night of Thursday, four bodies of dead Israeli hostages were handed over to Israel in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.
It was the last exchange of fire in the six-week first phase of the ceasefire, which ends this weekend.

Israel refuses to leave Gaza Corridor – breaking agreement
Israel will not leave the Philadelphia Corridor in southern Gaza, an Israeli official said in a statement according to Reuters.
Israeli troops are to begin withdrawing from the border area between Gaza and Egypt on Saturday, when the first phase of the ceasefire ends. If they do not, Israel will violate the terms of the ceasefire agreement with Hamas.
“We will not leave the Philadelphia Corridor. We will not allow Hamas killers to once again move freely along our border with pickup trucks and weapons,” said the official, who, in line with Israeli military regulations, spoke anonymously, according to The Times of Israel.
The Philadelphia Corridor runs along Gaza’s southern border with Egypt.
