US President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron are currently meeting the press at the White House.
Earlier today, Trump wrote a long post on Truth Social.
He wrote that he is having serious discussions with Vladimir Putin about the war in Ukraine.
A war that he claims at the press conference at the White House could be over in "a few weeks".
Talking with Putin about “transactions”
In the post on Truth Social, the American president writes that he is in discussions with Putin about “major transactions” regarding economic development.
It is unclear what type of transactions these are.
“Talks are progressing very well,” Donald Trump writes in his post.
At a press conference with French President Macron, President Trump said that Putin had changed his mind about peacekeeping forces from the West.
– Putin accepts European peacekeeping forces, Trump said according to the Reuters news agency.
Will meet Zelenskyj
Donald Trump also said that he will meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyj this week or next week.
During the press conference, Trump was asked if Ukraine should give up some land to Russia to end the war.
– We’ll see, Trump replied.
