Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney is invited when the European Cooperation Organization EPC holds a summit in Armenia.
“It is the first time a non-European country participates in the EPC,” writes EU Council President António Costa, who invited Carney along with host country Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“Europe and Canada are more than just like-minded partners – together we are building a global alliance to defend peace, shared growth and multilateralism,” writes Costa on X and Blue Sky.
The loosely knit EPC has been gathering all European countries except Russia, Belarus and the Vatican City since autumn 2022 for regular summits every six months.
This spring's summit will be held in Yerevan, Armenia, on Sunday and Monday.
