After the tariff freeze: Absolut Vodka can get millions back

Since the US Supreme Court declared Donald Trump's tariffs illegal in February, companies have been able to demand a refund for a week.

For the Swedish alcohol company Absolut Vodka, this could mean several million kronor in refunds, writes Sydsvenskan. But whether the company will request a refund is unclear.

- It is still an early stage, so I have nothing concrete to say on the matter, says the company's communications manager Paula Eriksson.

According to Sydsvenskan, it could be over 100 million kronor if the company gets the customs duties paid back.

However, Absolut Vodka cannot, as an exporter, demand a refund of customs duties. Only importers can do that. In this case, it would be Pernod Ricard's American marketing company.

Redrawn Districts Could Give Trump More Seats

Florida's Trump-friendly Governor Ron DeSantis has presented a plan to redraw the state's electoral districts so that Republicans will gain up to four new seats in Congress, reports the Washington Post.

It is the latest move in the war over electoral districts that Donald Trump started last year. Republicans have redrawn nine districts in their favor ahead of the midterm elections - a number that could become 13 if DeSantis' new plan is approved. In response, Democrats have redrawn ten districts in their favor.

Donald and Melania Trump are furious with TV personality Jimmy Kimmel after a joke he made the night before the shooting at the gala dinner, reports the BBC.

In the segment, Kimmel parodied the upcoming Correspondents' Dinner and pretended to be the host.

- Our First Lady Melania is here. Look at Melania, so beautiful. Mrs. Trump, you shine like a widow-to-be, he said.

In an X-rated post, Melania Trump demands that ABC, which broadcasts Kimmel's program, "take a stand."

"How many times will ABC's leadership allow Kimmel's disgusting behavior at the expense of our community," she writes.

Her husband agrees with her in a post on Truth Social.

"Jimmy Kimmel should be fired immediately by Disney and ABC," he writes.
