Large cocaine seizures in British giant port

British border guards have seized around five tonnes of cocaine in recent months.

The seizures were made in February and March and the value of the cocaine is estimated at around 400 million pounds, equivalent to 4.9 billion kronor.

The UK Home Office says that on several occasions in recent months, raids have been carried out at one of London's largest ports, London Gateway port.

The largest raid found 2,800 packages of cocaine hidden in a cargo of bananas. Another seizure, worth 80 million pounds, was found last month in a container of South American wines.

In total, British Border Force has seized around 150 tonnes of illegal drugs over the past year.
