Iranian delegation arrives dressed in black – with shoes and backpacks of dead children
Saturday's talks between Iran and the US in Pakistan were heated at times, a Pakistani source told Reuters.
– There were mood swings on both sides and the temperature rose and fell during the meeting.
The
meeting initially lasted around two hours before a break. According to
several media outlets, the talks are now continuing into the night.
The US delegation consists of Vice President JD Vance, envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.
Iran
is represented by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Speaker Mohammad
Baqer Qalibaf. According to Iranian media, the delegation arrived in
black mourning clothes and brought shoes and backpacks from children
killed in the US missile attack on a girls' school.
Trump: Doesn't Matter If There's a Deal with Iran
US President Donald Trump tells reporters that it doesn't matter to him if there's a deal with Iran, Reuters reports.
- No matter what happens, we win, he says.
Trump also says that Iran "probably has some mines" in the Strait of Hormuz, but that the US is in the process of clearing them.
